1Sky was created in 2007 to focus the power of millions of concerned Americans on a single goal: bold federal action by 2010 that can reverse global warming. The 1Sky Solutions are grounded in scientific necessity—they are the bottom line of what's needed to dramatically reduce carbon emissions while maximizing energy efficiency, renewable energy and breakthrough technologies.
Our focus is collaboration modeling. We empower people by creating an environment that is conducive to sharing innovative ideas, leveraging group resources for project development, and tracking the ongoing succcess of our efforts. The metrics we use to judge our successes are literacy rates and participation trends. In doing all of this, we hope to show that the value in collaborative effort is that it is a requirement for sustainability.
Our Mission: Our first job is to make sure everyone knows the target so that our political leaders feel real pressure to act. Reaching 350 ppm will require unprecedented international cooperation. 350 is the red line for human beings, the most important number on the planet. The most recent science tells us that unless we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million, we will cause huge and irreversible damage to the earth.

The Omni Center for Peace, Justice & Ecology is a grassroots group based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Our town is located in a high growth, high-energy area that has a history of alternative viewpoints, a highly diverse population, and a value for learning.
